It has been 44 days; 44 days ago, Marvin Harrison, the all-time receiving leader for the Indianapolis Colts, was released.
And he still hasn't found a team that will pick him up.
Marvin Harrison, at times, was the best receiver the National Football League has ever had. I keep remembering those acrobatic catches that seemed to defy nature itself and just amazement at how fast his reactions were when he caught balls off his own teammates.
He has, however, lost a step and since he is 36 years old, teams are reluctant to pick up the talented receiver.
I still think that an aged Marvin Harrison is more deadly than a lot of young receivers, but apparently the NFL disagrees.
The Colts wanted to keep their player, but they wanted him to restructure his contract so he could have less of an impact on the salary cap.
Harrison's contract was set to have counted $13.4 million against the year's salary cap, and the Colts needed that money.
