Apparently the only team that has won a Super Bowl while losing their last two-plus games in the regular season was the 1967 Green Bay Packers.
That's a longer drought than the '72 'Phins.
How much stock do you put in this?
I put a lot in historical stats because I'm a betting man, sometimes this burns me but often statistically it is the better bet.
Last year all of the last four playoff teams had won their last regular season game.
The Eagles had won their last game 44-6.
The Steelers won their last game 31-0.
The Cardinals had won their last 34-21.
The Ravens had won their last two, 33-24 and 27-7.
Whether the Colts management wanted to do something this year that had not been done before or not, they have no choice if they want to win the Super Bowl.
