If the Indianapolis Colts are even thinking about trading all-pro wide receiver Reggie Wayne at this year's NFL trading deadline, they need to stop and realize what the future consequences of such a move would be.
Wayne is their best receiver, and even if the Colts don't make the playoffs, which they likely won't, Peyton Manning will need his No. 1 target next season when he returns from injury.
If the Colts are bad enough to earn the first pick in the 2012 NFL draft, then quarterback Andrew Luck from Stanford, assuming the Colts take him, would need an elite receiver to throw to.
