NFL Picks Week 1: Will Colts Shock Texans Without Peyton Manning Under Center?

Since the entire sports world is completely caught up in the Peyton Manning injury saga, it only makes sense to look at his team without him. And frankly, things look bleak for the Indianapolis Colts.
The Colts are a team, and a franchise, built completely around the quarterback. Manning is arguably the most valuable player to his team in the entire NFL. In fact, it's hard to argue that anyone else is even close to worthy of that distinction.
In Manning's place the Colts will trot out a 38-year-old Kerry Collins, who has been with the team for less than three weeks. Collins isn't mobile, has no experience in the Colts' complex offensive scheme and hasn't yet built a rapport with his targets. The fact that Indianapolis' offense is so quarterback-centric will only amplify each of those factors.
